The Edmonton Chamber Music Society is returning with its Spring Equinox Festival, in what the society is calling a “re-awakening” of its postponed 2021 Summer Solstice Music Festival. The upcoming festival, March 19-24, 2022, consists of three main concerts taking place at small venues throughout Edmonton, with a special closing concert at The Foundry Room.
Performing at the festival are multiple impressive up-and-comers within the chamber music scene. Artists such as the Cheng2 Duo, who are coming to Edmonton hot off a major win at the International Music Competition in South Africa. At the same venue, fans of Spanish music are in for a delightful Evening in Spain with Juno-nominated soprano Miriam Khalil. Lastly, the young and exciting Viano String Quartet will be taking a break from touring the world to play at MacEwan University’s Muttart Hall.
