On Theatre: ‘War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast’

Interview

Medicine Hat Musical Theatre is gearing up for the closing weekend of War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast

This Joe Landry adaptation is set in 1948, ten years after Orson Welles‘ infamous radio broadcast, and is described as a “radio-play-within-a-radio-play” and “a thrilling homage to the form’s golden age and a timely reminder of what fear can do to a society.” The production boasts vintage commercials and live sound effects, evoking the feel of the landmark Welles broadcast.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, CKUA’s Scott Zielsdorf brought us more on the production, with Amber Stark of Medicine Hat Musical Theatre.
