Medicine Hat Musical Theatre is gearing up for the closing weekend of War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast.
This Joe Landry adaptation is set in 1948, ten years after Orson Welles‘ infamous radio broadcast, and is described as a “radio-play-within-a-radio-play” and “a thrilling homage to the form’s golden age and a timely reminder of what fear can do to a society.” The production boasts vintage commercials and live sound effects, evoking the feel of the landmark Welles broadcast.
