If the trajectory is the thing, SIX is a clear winner. The musical found its footing in Edmonton back in 2019, when it premiered at the Shoctor Theatre in the Citadel complex. After it played to rave reviews, it went on to win two Tony awards. Now the musical that embroils audience members in the wild and passionate tale of the wives of Henry VIII returns to the Shoctor in Edmonton from August 12 – September 10.
Co-conspirators Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss conceived of SIX while they were students at Cambridge University. The concept was born out of the idea of giving each of the wives of Henry VIII the opportunity to avenge their fate through the power of modern music.
On Thoroughfare Tony King interviews Jaz Robinson and Maggie Lacasse who play two of the wives in the show.
