The Citadel Theatre in Edmonton is set to stage an award-winning, multidisciplinary dark comedy by Métis playwright Matthew MacKenzie.
Bears is described as using “bold, emotional storytelling, enchanting projection, and a stunning cast of performers and dancers to tell the story of one man’s perilous quest through the Rockies.” The story centres on Floyd, the prime suspect in a workplace accident, who travels through the Rockies headed for Burnaby, B.C. along the route of the Trans Mountain Pipeline. The play stars award-winning Métis theatre artist Sheldon Elter.
