On Poetry: the Best in Canadian Poetry for 2021

“The thing about poets is that they write from the front lines of everyday life, and what they see and feel and find there. Poets are in some ways like journalists, in that they’re reporting back to us what they’re experiencing and encountering. And they have a little more freedom than journalists to dig into our reactions to what’s going on.”

So says Anita Lahey, Series Editor for the annual Best Canadian Poetry anthology, which is out now via BiblioasisPress.

Lahey stopoed in to talk about what this scintillating new collection of works has to say about the times we’re living in, here in Canada.

CKUA’s Grant Stovel spoke with with Anita Lahey on Monday, November 29, 2021, on Alberta Morning.
