The Wild Rose Opera Project is a series of four short operatic works that explore mental health issues through characters with connections to Alberta’s landscape. The fourth and final work in the series is Badlands.
It focuses on a woman visiting the Badlands of Alberta who recalls childhood memories of her mother, whose life is now impacted by Alzheimer’s Disease. The work, described as “an operatic portrait of generations of caregiving,” streams on Edmonton Opera’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and FavaTV’s Studio 19.
