Sports photographer Candice Ward kept herself occupied last winter by setting out to find what she describes as “the perfect ice.”
The Calgarian invited along 14 Alberta athletes, including players from the Calgary Hitmen, to the lakes and ponds around the province where she took photos of them in action.
Her first photo exhibit, Outdoor Ice, is being featured in the window display at the Telus Convention Centre/Centre Street C-Train stop in Calgary until December.
Friday, October 15, 2021 on Alberta Morning, Ward spoke with CKUA’s Lisa Wilton about how working on the project helped her during lockdown last year, what perfect ice means to her, plus which athlete fell through the ice during one of the photo sessions.
