The words of one of Canada’s greatest songwriters, Leonard Cohen, continue to inspire almost seven years after his death in 2016.
This time, his lyrics and music serve as the basis to Ballets Jazz Montréal’s acclaimed production, Dance Me Outside, taking place this month at both of Alberta’s Jubilee Auditoriums. The program is set to first appear in Calgary on August 24, followed by an Edmonton performance on August 27.
Choreographed by three internationally renowned dancers – Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Andonis Foniadakis and Ihsan Rustem – Dance Me Outside uses Cohen’s profoundly engaging songs to convey the various stages of life.
