LitFest Edmonton kicks off Thursday, October 14, with an 11-day event featuring over 50 presenters showcasing the best in non-fiction, including Omar Mouallem, Jodi Wilson-Raybould, Ian Williams and many more.
Carla Funk is one of those celebrated Canadian authors taking part, and she recently released her second memoir: Mennonite Valley Girl: A Wayward Coming of Age. “Think acid-wash, spiral perms, mixtapes, and sweaty high-school dances circa 1989” are some of the vibes the book evokes, according to Funk.
CKUA’s Grant Stovel brought us more on Carla’s nostalgia-soaked memoir, and her upcoming LitFest appearance, on Alberta Morning on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.
