On Art: Road Trip at the Art Gallery of Alberta

Interview

Now that golden autumn leaves have been replaced with snow-covered branches, heading out on the road to see the sights seems like a distant summer memory. Luckily, the Art Gallery of Alberta is letting guests relive both the thrilling and more mundane aspects of the road trip in its latest exhibition, titled Road Trip. Curated by Catherine Crowston, Road Trip features a collection of almost 100 visual works from more than 30 artists. Each of these art pieces has been taken from the AGA’s collection and chosen for its relevance to the road trip theme. The AGA is also asking the public to get involved by sharing their go-to road trip playlists, which the gallery is then posting on their website.

Catherine Crowston joined Lisa Wilton to talk about the exhibition and the romanticism of the Canadian road trip.
