Meet Laurie Shaw-Greyeyes, founder of the Indigenous education organization Gen7Path. Laurie is also the lyricist for the new single 1876, performed by Michelle Joly with Peter Cameron and released in time for this year’s 150th anniversary of Treaty 6. Laurie shares with us some thoughts on music as medicine, plus what the Cree principle of Wahkohtowin means to the lives of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada.
