MacEwan University‘s in-house record label Bent River Records is a project that champions local music, and gives students a hands-on experience working on virtually every aspect of the process of recording and releasing music.
Earlier this year, they offered art and design students an opportunity to enter a contest, submitting designs for two upcoming new releases by a pair of highly distinguished Edmonton musicians, neo-classical composer Allan Gilliland and expat jazz guitar virtuoso Mike Rud.
Mike Rud, along with Alan Ngo, winner of the Bent River album cover design contest, joined Grant Stovel on CKUA’s Alberta Morning.
Mike will be hosting a streaming event Tuesday, April 21st 7pm MT on Instagram, to share the first single from Salome’s Dance. The album itself will be out May 12th.
