Kat Cameron shares “Ghosts Still Linger”

In March Edmonton-based poet Kat Cameron shared with us her brand-new poetry collection, Ghosts Still Linger. The book features three sections: on the ghosts of people she’s loved, ghosts of Old West icons like Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley, and ghosts of the Western landscape.

In the  conversation with CKUA’s Grant Stovel, Kat shared about the inspiration behind these poems – from a lifelong love of Alberta’s natural beauty, to a deep appreciation for the band Spirit of the West, to the exploration of underrepresented women’s voices from the Old West. She also talks about what it’s like to be a professor and poet, trying to work and publish in the lockdown era.

Kat Cameron’s Ghosts Still Linger is available through the University of Alberta Press.
