Joel Plaskett first came to fame in the beloved rock band Thrush Hermit, and the last time he visited CKUA’s Edmonton studios was five years ago, during the band’s reunion tour. For his autumn 2024 tour, it was just himself and his guitars for an album launch tour to celebrate his acoustic album One Real Reveal.
In this episode of the Hidden Track podcast he shares with us the musical moment that sparked this whole album, and how it represents a return to his roots in somewhat surprising ways. He also talked about how spoken word suddenly introduced itself as part of his artistry, and the importance of embracing the presence and spontaneity of music, art, and life.
