Gene Luen Yang’s journey into comics and graphic novels began in the fifth grade with an issue of Superman.
Now an accomplished cartoonist and author, Yang’s work ranges from Superman itself, to Avatar: the Last Airbender, to stories from his life.
Yang will be speaking tomorrow as the University of Calgary’s Distinguished Visiting Writer. Register for his online presentation at events.ucalgary.ca.
Yang spoke with CKUA’s Scott Zielsdorf about his experiences in the world of illustrated stories.
