Newfoundland tandem Fortunate Ones are criss-crossing Alberta by bus in late November, sharing a bill on the Anchor Up Tour with fellow Atlantic Canada greats The Once and Old Man Luedecke.
Catherine Allan and Andrew James O’Brien, the couple behind Fortunate Ones, are in the spotlight for the new episode of CKUA’s Hidden Track podcast. They took some time out from their busy Canadian tour to tell us about their remarkable new album, That Was You and Me. They describe how the songs took shape in a secluded seaside cabin, they discuss the ways in which their own struggles and demons play out in the songs on this record, and they tell us about becoming friends with many of their musical heroes from Newfoundland and elsewhere.
