Festival Radio: Edmonton Fringe

Festival Radio

With 27 venues and more than 160 shows featuring artists from around the world, the Edmonton Fringe is North America’s largest, longest-running Fringe Theatre Festival.

Saturday, August 6, at 1pm MT on Festival Radio Leo Cripps and Scott Zielsdorf spoke with performers Nayana Fielkov and Kaeley Jade, as well as Artistic Director, Murray Utas.

Nayana Fielkov is a critically acclaimed performing artist dedicated to the work of play. Beginning with scripted plays and musicals over two decades ago, she evolved through the creation and wearing of masks, into the worlds of clown and devised theatre.

Métis folk-pop singer/songwriter Kaeley Jade weaves lush imagery and hooky melodic lines to craft music that is both poignant and playful. Kaeley is playing the ATB Stage at Fringe Theatre this year and is involved with the pêhonân Indigenous programming series.

Tune in to CKUA every Saturday for more festival previews.
