Fairy Tales 2020 goes virtual

Calgary’s long-running Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival revealed its lineup this week. Organizers also announced they will be running the 10-day event online because of the Covid-19 health crisis

For the past 22 years, Calgary’s Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival has proudly told the stories of the LGBTQ community by presenting a diverse selection of films from across Canada and around the world.

This year’s festival is slated for May 14 to 24th, but because of Covid-19 health concerns, organizers have decided to make it a virtual event. Tony King spoke to Fairy Tales Queer Arts Society executive director James Demers about moving the festival online.
