Calgary’s Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI) returns this month with their Artist of the Month program after a brief hiatus. Kicking off the renewed initiative is Colombia-born multi-disciplinary artist Estefania Saldarriaga, who is the ICAI’s Artist of the Month for October.
Saldarriaga came to Canada 15 years ago and has been involved in the arts for most of her life. She is practices numerous art forms including dance, theatre, photography and other visual arts. Saldarriaga’s primary practice focuses on folkloric expressions through dance and music. She also teaches children the power of expressing themselves through art and has been involved with various community development projects.
