Interview

A new Edmonton-based exhibition opens the wardrobe to reveal costumes worn by prominent Albertan drag and burlesque performers. Each costume tells a unique story about the performer who wore it.

Dress & Escapism: Performance of Identify through Drag and Burlesque Costume is on now at MacEwan’s Mitchell Art Gallery. The collection features pieces worn by renowned performers Darrin Hagen and Trevor Anderson.

Josée Chartrand is the curator of the exhibition. She spoke with CKUA’s Kate Stevens about the project.

Dress & Escapism runs at the Mitchell Art Gallery untill March 27th. Take a virtual tour of the gallery at MacEwan.ca/MitchellArtGallery.
