Deborah Day, Costume Alchemy, and IATSE Local 212 pivot to producing protective gear

Interview

Deborah Day is a costume designer by trade. Her full-time career involves creating wardrobes for shows like Fargo and Black Summer. With television production at a standstill her ability to earn a living came to a grinding halt.

Now Deborah and her team have pivoted. From making costumes for the silver screen to creating protective wear for front line workers in Calgary.

“The Americans, through our large network, basically said ‘heads-up Canada, this is coming your way.'”  – Deborah Day

Tony King spoke with Deborah about making this critical shift in operations.
