Grande Prairie has a proud, vibrant theatre tradition that dates back a century or more. However, the community also got, well…a much more nefarious reputation from a hundred years back — it was the site of one of Canada’s most notorious crime sprees.
Two long-time members of Grande Prairie’s theatre community have applied their talents to exploring and dramatizing the story of what remains the biggest unsolved mass murder in Alberta’s history.
After pouring years into extensive research, sound design, voice acting, and production, Grande Prairie’s Chris Beauchamp and Cris Seppola have just launched the three-part true crime narrative podcast, Blood on the Prairie. Recently CKUA’s Grant Stovel spoke with the creators:
