Chrysothemis: Meg Braem on her new play

Interview

In 2017, award-winning playwright, Meg Braem, was named Lee Playwright in Residence at the University of Alberta. That’s when the seed was planted for her new work, Chrysothemis, a play that tells the story of a cast out in the canon of Greek Drama.

In the play, Braem gives a voice to the character Chrysothemis, daughter in the house of Atreus, a family that gives a new meaning to the word dysfunctional.

Chrysothemis will receive its grand debut on evening of Saturday December 5, streaming live from the Timms Centre for the Arts.

Tony King spoke with Meg Braem at her home in Calgary.
