Calgary Jazz Relief supports local musicians

In the wake of COVID-19, performing artists are looking to economic emergency support programs and EI to make ends meet.

But Aimee-Jo Benoit foresees challenges for jazz artists seeking that financial support. The musician and business owner has formed a collective called Calgary Jazz Relief.

The group includes events producers, artists, and jazz fans. And they’re aiming to support artists who might otherwise be ineligible for government support.

Benoit spoke with Traffic Jams host, Lisa Wilton, about this initiative.
