The Calgary Folk Music Festival is set to bring live audiences and music back to Prince’s Island Park this year, with their Summer Serenades series, taking place July 22-28!
The modified event features mainstage performances only, with a reduced audience capacity. The festival says it will be working closely with the City of Calgary and Alberta Health Services to follow all COVID-19 protocols.
The lineup includes Cowboy Junkies, Dan Mangan, The Halluci Nation (pictured above at the 2016 CFMF, as photographed by CKUA’s Elliott Garnier), Lido Pimienta, Hawksley Workman, The Jim Cuddy Band, Whitehorse, Frazey Ford, and many more.
On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, the festival’s Artistic Director Kerry Clarke joined CKUA’s Grant Stovel to talk about how the festival will be welcoming audiences back safely, and what festival-goers can expect from the series.
