The GRAND in Calgary is teaming up with flautist and bandleader Jiajia Li to present a variety of performances on Saturday, May 20. Discovering Asian Performing Arts is a multi-disciplinary event showcasing Asian creativity and culture. The event features performances from South Korean dance artists Mibok Kim and Minho Kang, Calgary-based taiko drummers Yama no Oto and Chinese music group Gailan Ensemble.
Additional cultural programming will also be presented before and after the performances. Curator Jiajia Li recently joined CKUA’s Grant Stovel to discuss the event:
