Plus, Alberta Ballet’s Artistic Director, Francesco Ventriglia tells about a new production of The Wizard Of Oz.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, blues guitar goddess Sue Foley is returning to Calgary for One Guitar Woman. She’s bringing her show to The GRAND, in association with the Calgary International Blues Festival. She joins CKUA’s Leo Cripps to tell us more.

Montreal-born Jean-Marie Zeitouni has built a reputation as one of the most talented conductors in contemporary classical music. He is returning to the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra as the company’s new Music Director. CKUA’s Lisa Wilton speaks with Jean-Marie Zeitouni about his return.

This year’s Mainstage production at SkirtsAfire Festival is Dance Nation, written by playwright Clare Barron. The Alberta premiere of this show is directed by Amanda Goldberg. Before the grand debut of the dance drama, Goldberg joins CKUA’s Tony King.

Late Hours is a special evening of live music and experimental film with Karl Hirzer (piano/synthesizer) and Josué Valdepeñas (cello), featuring the premiere of Braden Dereniwski’s music film, Crystal Clear, and Vicki Van Chau’s award-winning short film, In Tandem.

A Canadian premiere of The Wizard of Oz will be brought to life through a fusion of classical and contemporary ballet. Alberta Ballet’s Artistic Director, Francesco Ventriglia, joins CKUA’s Kate Stevens to talk about this unique production.
