This week, we speak with playwright Josh Languedoc, and JUNO-winning artist Celeigh Cardinal. We ask Aretha Greatrix about the Game Development Expo, and we talk with journalist Ann Powers, who has written a new book about Joni Mitchell.  

Tuesday, July 16 at 5:40pm MT on Traffic Jams 

Anishinaabe playwright Josh Languedoc has two new dramatic experiences beginning their respective runs on July 24. The play Amik Tales premieres at the 2024 Rubaboo Arts Festival; and Civil Blood: A Treaty Story launches the same day at Fort Edmonton Park (presented by Thou Art Here Theatre). We’ll learn more about these productions on Tuesday’s Traffic Jams with Lisa Wilton. 

 

Wednesday, July 17 at 1:40pm on Thoroughfare  

Edmonton’s Celeigh Cardinal won a JUNO the last time she put out a new album. Now she’s got another new LP and a list of upcoming festival shows this summer, which sees her taking the stage in Edmonton, Hinton, Calgary, and Lethbridge! She joins Grant Stovel on Thoroughfare to tell us more about this latest run of shows and the reception of her newest music.

Edmonton’s Game Development Expo is one of the largest indie game development events in Canada. CKUA’s Scott Zielsdorf will learn more about this exciting conference, which showcases the Albertan creative community, with local streamer, filmmaker, and industry advocate Aretha Greatrix.
