Albertan musicians (and longtime CKUA listeners), Sammy Brue and John Tymchatyn, are working on a joint project to spotlight the lost lyrics and songs of Justin Townes Earle. Brue is producing a crowdfunded album featuring Earle’s lost lyrics, while John, who is also a filmmaker, has been documenting the experience on film. The duo joins Lisa on Traffic Jams to tell us more about this ambitious project.

Calgary-based writer Samantha Jones is releasing her debut collection of poetry this fall. Attic Rain is a work that showcases how it feels to live with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Lines and words repeat, write over themselves and read top to bottom and back again. This fascinating new work is part of NeWest Press’s fall collection. We’ll learn more about the book on Friday’s Alberta Morning when CKUA’s Scott Zielsdorf speaks with author Samantha Jones.
