This week we learn more about an event that celebrates the end of Calgary’s Olympic Plaza, a new exhibition at the Stollery Gallery, and we learn about a new documentary about the BMX scene. Plus we chat with animator Ejun Hong.

A free outdoor farewell concert is in the works for Calgary’s Olympic Plaza. Leo Cripps will learn more about this event from Josh Dalledonne, Associate VP of Creative at Arts Commons. 

Tuesday August 27 at 5:40pm MT on Traffic Jams

For the past two decades, the Nina Haggerty Centre in Edmonton has been home to a collective of artists with developmental disabilities. The centre also runs the Stollery Gallery, which features work by artists who are under-represented in the art community. The gallery’s latest exhibition, Self-Ish, is on now until Sept. 10th. Lisa Wilton will chat with artist Hilary Mussell.

Former Edmontonian Ejun Hong. Ejun is a fourth year animation student at the University of Pennsylvania who, in recent years, is utilizing animation as means of addressing various social issues. Ejun joins Tony King to tell us more about her journey as an animator and what she hopes to convey with her art.

Edmonton-based filmmaker and BMX enthusiast, Justin Schwanke joins Grant Stovel to chat about a new documentary. Project Spoke is a film series that examines a series of eclectic and passionate characters within the BMX community from across the globe.
