Titilope Sonuga is a Nigerian poet, playwright and performer. In addition to her recent honour of serving as Edmonton’s ninth Poet Laureate, Sonuga has performed for sold out audiences across the globe and previously released two spoken word albums. Her third album, titled Sis, released August 15. Tony King learns more about this new album.

Edmonton’s sweethearts Carter & the Capitals are set to hit the legendary King Eddy stage on August 24. The Calgary appearance serves as the capstone of their Alberta shows this summer, before the band finishes the tour in Saskatchewan. Kate Stevens chats with the band about the Carter concert experience.
