Aaron Au, In the Community

Aaron Au launched his Saturday morning program, Classical Connections, in November 2022, with a desire to connect people to the music that’s happening all around us. It might be on a well-known concert stage, like The Winspear or the Jack Singer Concert Hall, but now it also might be at a local coffee shop!

In upcoming programs, Aaron will be covering classical music in new ways and different places. In a new monthly feature within Classical Connections called “In the Community,” he’ll catch up with musicians, professional and amateur, as they play music and talk about their craft. He may even hit the road and check out what’s happening in Calgary, Lethbridge, and other Alberta centres.

The first episode of Classical Connections with Aaron as CKUA’s “roving reporter” included some great on-location audio and interviews captured during a live chamber music performance at an Edmonton café. Hear music, plus short conversations with Brizsa Pedroso from Edmonton’s Felice Café, and Ethan Filner from the High Level Trio. If you missed it, catch it OnDemand.
