Women of Aviation
The Alberta Aviation Museum is thrilled to announce its upcoming Women of Aviation event, scheduled for March 9th from 10 am to 4 pm.
Our event hall will be buzzing with excitement as it hosts an Aviation Career Fair, offering invaluable insights and opportunities for those interested in pursuing a career in aviation.
In the main museum, we will have curated activities tailored for various age groups. For the younger ones, our Kids’ Programming includes airplane making, a morse code game, and several interactive stations. The simulator lab will be open for those with a simulator ticket, offering a hands-on experience.
Additionally, we are offering a 45-minute kids’ tour, scheduled twice throughout the day, to ignite their passion for flight and exploration.
For our adult audience, we have curated an insightful 45-minute adult tour, complemented by keynote presentations from distinguished women in the field. While our official speakers are being finalized, attendees can anticipate thought-provoking discussions and invaluable insights into the aviation industry. As part of our celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), we are thrilled to introduce innovative presentations on “object handling.” This special feature will showcase never-before-seen artifacts, including uniforms from flight attendants in the 1960s-1990s and RCAF uniforms from the 1940s-1950s. Through this presentation, we aim to shed light on the historical expectations placed on women’s appearance within aviation and honor the contributions of women throughout the decades.
Join us as we celebrate the past, present, and future of women in aviation. The Women of Aviation event promises to be an inspiring and educational experience for all. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to be part of a historic celebration and to fuel your passion for flight!
Ticket sales will launch on our website on February 9th 2024.
