Women in Aviation
Women have been integral to the history and evolution of aviation, breaking barriers and redefining possibilities in the sky and beyond.
At the Alberta Aviation Museum, we celebrate Women in Aviation Week each March to honor these trailblazers, recognize the challenges they’ve overcome, and inspire the next generation to reach new heights. By sharing their stories, showcasing their achievements, and creating opportunities for hands-on learning, we aim to highlight the invaluable role of women in aviation while encouraging more women and girls to pursue careers in this dynamic field.
Building on the success of Women in Aviation, our Women in Trades event expands to celebrate and support women in a variety of skilled trades. This event offers a dynamic career fair in our event hall, connecting attendees with industry professionals, hands-on demonstrations, and career opportunities in trades such as aviation, mechanics, engineering, and more.
While we broaden our focus, our commitment to aviation remains strong. In our gallery, guests can explore the rich history of women in aviation through guided tours, engaging presentations, and the unique opportunity to sit inside select aircraft.
Join us as we inspire the next generation of women to take flight—whether in the skies or in the trades that keep them soaring!
