Wind in High Places

Sunday, March 8th

From Mozart to a World Premiere: Juno Winner Allan Gordon Bell Debuts New Work in Calgary
Experience a musical journey through time as The Wind in High Places takes over the cSpace Marda Loop Studio Theatre for one afternoon only.
This curated chamber program bridges the gap between 18th-century elegance and modern atmospheric wonder, anchored by the World Premiere of Plenum by Juno Award-winning Calgary composer Allan Gordon Bell.
The Highlights
The Premiere: Be the first to hear Plenum, a new work by one of Canada’s most celebrated composers.
The Ethereal: John Luther Adams’ The Wind in High Places creates a haunting, “wind-swept” soundscape using nothing but natural harmonics.
The Prodigy: A charming, high-energy quartet written by a 17-year-old Mozart.
The Outstanding Musicians: John Lowry (Associate Concertmaster CPO),
Eric Auerbach, violin, Jeremy Bauman, viola, Andrea Case, cello

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
