Who Cares EP Release Party

Saturday, July 20th

Calgary’s music duo, Who Cares (violinist Laura Reid & flautist Jiajia Li) will be hosting their new EP Release Party on Saturday July 20th at 3 p.m. at Alcove Centre.

On the new EP titled, “Simple Lines of Enquiry”, the duo look upon an often fixed and precise genre of music with care and imagination. Following a thread started on their previous album, Reid and Li created new arrangements of music originally written for entirely different instrumentation. The EP also focuses on Canadian music composed in the last 20 years, featuring four composers: Ann Southam, Vivian Fung, Anna Hostman, and Ka-nin Chan.

A very special guest, singer-songwriter/guzheng player, Erica Dee Mah from Yukon will be joining the event.

This all-ages event takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. with admission by donation.

New EP “Simple Lines of Enquiry” will be released on July 20 on all major platforms.
Limited amount of cassettes will be available for sale at the event.
Pre-order of the digital and physical music is available on July 8 on Bandcamp.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
