Wetlands

Tuesday, May 13th

Join an interpreter in Kin Coulee Park – Meeting at the Kinette Picnic Shelter to learn about a local wetland! This program will be partly a talk and partly a physical activity. We will be discussing the coulee, the plants that grow alongside it, and how they affect the landscape. We will discuss what is in the water itself, what is native, and what has been introduced by people. We will identify the local flora and fauna, then perform a pond dip with see-through Tupperware and examine what we find. While respecting the wildlife we encounter, we will look with a magnifying glass to inspect the insects and other creatures we come across together. We advise people to bring bug spray, clothes + shoes they don’t mind potentially getting dirty or wet, and sunscreen! We look forward to seeing you May 13th from 1:00-2:00pm.

This is a free public program but registration is required and spaces are limited. For more information or to register, contact us through the Nature Line 403-529-6225.

This program was made possible by the Land Stewardship Centre of Canada

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
