Ways to Get There Artist in Attendance

Saturday, August 3rd

Laura invites us into a world where nostalgia meets imagination. Through a series of paintings and photographs, she captures the essence of old cars, trucks, bikes, boats, and more—each piece a testament to her keen eye for detail and her deep appreciation for the stories these vehicles carry. Laura’s art not only captures the physical forms of these vehicles but also their spirit—their resilience, their adventures, and their enduring charm. Local artist, photographer, musician and children’s author, Laura Bachynski, studied art at the University of Windsor and always tended to gravitate to the realism painters. She taught art for many years at various schools throughout Alberta and has completed many commissioned works that hang in private collections in Canada, Mexico, and the U.K. Her medium is mainly focused in acrylic and watercolour.

The show runs from August 2 – 18, 2024
Opening reception Friday, August 2: 7-9pm
Proudly serving local craft beverages by Alley Kat & Garage Kombucha, and the whole array at our Bay 1 cash bar. Enjoy live music & serving up some light charcuterie.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
