Washboard Hank & the Wringers

Saturday, May 25th

Coming up on May 25th at the Wagon Wheel Pub in Nanton, with Sweet Muriel, Sleepy Jim and Lance Loree.

Washboard Hank is a legendary entertainer who has played music in every province and territory in Canada. He plays a wide variety of home made and traditional instruments, Stradovarious Washboard, Falopian Tuba, Perfected Kazoo, Guitar, Tenor & Five-string Banjos, and Mandolin. The fact that he is a very well regarded songwriter is obvious as he presents a dynamic set of Roots and Original music that fits together to give a sensation of something both historic and current. A Washboard Hank show will have you laughing and talking about it long after he is gone so don’t miss it!

The Wringers feature Hank’s sassy foil Sweet Muriel on mandolin, who’s antics and unique voice add a whole Popeye and Olive Oil, Johnny and June flavor to the performance. On guitar it’s Lance Loree (Uncle Thirsty) an Alberta legend on guitar and armpit farting. Although their birthdays are minutes apart Lance is not Hank’s twin brother. Sleepy Jim on Bass is the comic glue, keeping them all together to present music that is uniquely funny and skillful… it’s gonna be BIG FUN!

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
