Verdi-ssimo

The Alberta Symphony Orchestra Society presents a special night of operatic music to celebrate the 210th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest opera composers in history: the Italian, Giuseppe Verdi.

His operas La Traviata, Rigoletto, Il Trovatore, Aida, and more, have traveled the world and will continue to be staged for generations to come.
The program will feature a selection of arias, duets, solo piano, and ensembles, from some of Verdi’s most popular works, performed by sopranos Cara Lianne McLeod, Helen Hassinger, Nansee Hughes, mezzo-soprano Barbara King, tenor Andrea Pinna, baritone Bertrand Malo, accompanied by pianist and music director Emilio De Mercato.

Refreshments to follow.
