Truth and Reconciliation Film and Author Event

Tuesday, September 30th

To honour the importance of Truth & Reconciliation Day, Edmonton Short Film Festival will hold a free screening of short films, interspersed with short talks by local Indigenous authors about their books. Please join us for this creative community gathering.

This event is FREE.

After each film and excerpt from a local Indigenous author, there will be a discussion on the content presented. This dialogue is crucial for promoting understanding, empathy, and unity. By showcasing a diverse range of Indigenous films, this event contributes to the preservation of Indigenous cultures and tradi1ons. The stories shared through film and text serve as a valuable medium for passing down cultural knowledge to younger generations and promoting a sense of pride and identity within the community.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
