Tom Cochrane, Trooper, Sass Jordan

Saturday, November 11th

Over the course of a long and illustrious career spanning almost 50 years, the pride of Lynn Lake, Manitoba, Tom Cochrane has achieved a level of success known to few recording artists.

Starting out as a folk-based singer/songwriter playing the coffeehouses of Toronto`s famed Yorkville scene in the early 70’s, Tom joined forces with rock group Red Rider in 1978 as their lead singer and main songwriter. A Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, Cochrane, both with Red Rider and as a solo artist, has won eight JUNO awards. His legacy as a Canadian icon has been cemented with a star on Canada`s Walk of Fame and a 322 km section of Manitoba`s provincial highway named “Tom Cochrane`s Life Is A Highway”. Over the course of his career he has released 21 albums and has toured constantly, rooting his
place in the hearts, minds, and ears of audiences with his engaging performances while playing his multitude of crowd-pleasing hits.

Joining Cochrane will be one of Canada’s top five selling bands of all time and 2023 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees, Trooper. Along with the pioneer of female-fronted rock, Sass Jordan, who is known for her powerful, gritty, blues-infused rock and roll and crowd-pleasing performances.

The Rock and Roll Society of Edmonton (RRSE) is a local not-for-profit charity who provides after school music programs to youth through the Centre for Arts and Music (CAM) program. CAM reaches out to children who would otherwise have few opportunities to participate in the arts. Children learn how to write songs, play instruments and perform together on stage. In the process, they earn self-esteem, respect for themselves and others, and much needed self-confidence. Farmfair International is committed to supporting junior exhibitors who will be tomorrow’s agriculture leaders; concert proceeds will help support exhibitor prizing and awards.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM MST starting at $49.50 at Ticketmaster

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
