Thousand Faces Festival

Friday, June 19th - Sunday, June 21st

Thousand Faces Festival, presented by TD Bank Group, is back for 2026.

The festival is free to attend and will take place from June 19th-21st. Our festival is the perfect destination for a Father’s Day weekend full of free fun that celebrates Edmonton’s diverse arts and cultural scene.

Thousand Faces Festival takes participants on a mythic adventure to kick off Edmonton’s summer festival season. The festival is a family-friendly celebration of multicultural mythologies and diverse cuisines from “Tasty Alberta Ave.” Participants can experience a range of activities, learning opportunities, and performances in shared community spaces.

The festival will begin Friday, June 19th from 6pm-9pm with an evening “Around the Fire,” where volunteers and community members will get a taste of the weekend’s offerings. The festival will continue on Saturday, June 20th from 1pm-9pm and Sunday, June 21st from 1pm-5pm with performances and activities.

This year’s festival will feature a variety of immersive cultural performances, from Ghanaian storytelling to Indigenous Hand Drumming. Featured acts will include:

  • Theatre Prospero’s new short theatrical adaptation of the Hindu Epic Ramayana, where narrators guide audience members through a Hero’s quest to save his love from a 10-headed Demon-King
  • Cuban Movement’s new piece that combines dance and spoken word to explore the myth of Yemaya, the AfroCuban Oricha and deity of the ocean.

At Thousand Faces, everyone is encouraged to come for the beats and stay for the treats! The festival will offer free ice cream and food by donation from 8 local restaurants, including Africano Cafe, La Morenita, and new this year: Chicken For You! The performers, stages, and food have been brought to you by TD Bank Group, Edmonton Heritage Council, and Alberta Avenue Business Association.

Additional partners, sponsors, and funders include the Government of Canada (Canada Summer Jobs), the Alberta Foundation of the Arts, the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Arts Council, the Norwood Neighbourhood Association, and the Canadian Multicultural Education Foundation.

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
