The War Brides are Coming

“The War Brides are Coming” is a play in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the war brides’ arrival in Canada.

These were about 48,000 women who came to Canada to join the Canadian servicemen they’d met (and often married) during World War II. They braved many challenges making their new lives in this country.

Written by local playwright/director P. Gail Whiteford, it captures many true stories from her parents’ experience.
