The Secret Starling

Thursday, November 30th - Saturday, December 2nd

One Ballet Slipper. One Poisonous Secret.
One Daring Adventure To Find Family.

Clara Starling lives in the lonely, run down Braithwaite Manor with her Uncle, until one day he disappears, leaving her with too many mysteries to solve alone. With the help of an energetic orphan named Peter and the friendly neighbours, Clara is slowly able to bring colour back into her life. When she finds a worn ballet slipper that may be connected to her dead mother she can’t help but take to London’s streets to find out what really happened to her. It’s a race against the past as Clara slowly pieces together a murderous plot while narrowly avoiding capture herself. It’s an adventure that proves that as much as family can be lost, they can also be found.

Youth from across the City of Calgary gather annually to create alongside professional choreographers for 10-12 weeks. The result is a completely original, family friendly dance and theatre performance.

Alberta Dance Theatre creates in Moh’kinsstis located in the traditional Treaty 7 territory and traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. The City of Calgary is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. We are grateful for the priviledge to celebrate dance and expression together in this place we call home.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
