The New Cohort

Sunday, May 11th

Live from the Rockies presents an afternoon of classical string mastery, featuring esteemed Banff Centre alumni and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra husband and wife duo of Keith Hamm and Julie Hereish, known together as The New Cohort.

Founded in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, The New Cohort was formed by Keith Hamm and Julie Hereish to explore chamber music possibilities while in household isolation. A deep dive into the repertoire for viola and cello has led to many performance engagements across Canada, including a recent 7-concert tour of Atlantic Canada in the 2022/23 season. Other appearances include performaces for Edmonton Symphony’s Stage to Screen series, Doors Open for Music at Southminster in Ottawa, The Homestage Tour for Rosebud Theatre, and Xenia Concerts.

The New Cohort has also appeared in numerous festivals, including the Rosebud Chamber Music Festival, and the Sweetwater Music Festival.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
