The New Americans: Unplugged

Friday, June 27th

John Hewitt is the most prolific songwriter Alberta has to offer, and with an Allstar backing band it’s no wonder they put on over 150 shows per year across the Western States and Provinces. Join John Hewitt and the New Americans for an extremely special, intimate unplugged show that is doubling as a live recording!

Soaring 4 part harmonies, deep poetry blended with melodic hooks and phrases taking inspirations from Tom Petty, Neil Young, John Prine, Bob Dylan and others. This quartet for one night only at the Carrot Coffeehouse in Edmonton is the only place you should be!

Performing:

John Hewitt: Guitar, harmonica, lead vocals
Benjamin Williams: 12 string guitar, vocals
Patrick Hughes: Lead guitar, mandolin, Nashville strung guitar, vocals
Connor Miskiman: Upright bass/bowed bass, Vocals

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
