The Gryphon Trio
To begin our 2026/27 season, the St. Albert Chamber Music Society is proud to present one of the world’s preeminent piano trios for an intimate, unforgettable afternoon of music. For more than 30 years, the Gryphon Trio—featuring Annalee Patipatanakoon (violin), Roman Borys (cello), and Jamie Parker (piano)—has captivated international audiences with their highly refined, dynamic performances. With 22 recorded CDs, 11 Juno Award nominations, and 3 Juno wins under their belt, they are widely recognized as icons of Canadian classical music. The trio will perform Old Photographs, by Christos Hatzis, Piano Trio No. 32 in A major, Op. 36, No. 1, Hob. XV:18 by Haydn, and Beethoven’s Piano Trio No. 7 in B-flat major, Op. 97, “Archduke”. Also performing is the winner of the Northern Alberta Concerto competition, Yihao Zhang, who will perform Dance of the Gnomes by Liszt.
