The “Chillin’ With Dylan” Showcase

Thursday, October 9th

The Red Deer Blues Society Presents:
“Chillin’ With Dylan” A tribute to the music of Bob Dylan and The Band.

The Volunteer appreciation showcase will feature the dedicated musicians that come out for the open mic nights, both in local venues and on the Ross Street Patio every Thursday in Red Deer, sponsored by the Downtown Business Association. These guys show up to nearly every show to support the local live music scene here in Red Deer and play their own music and covers of their favorite songwriters.

Join us on October 9th, 2025, for a heartfelt Volunteer Appreciation Night at The Vin L Den, celebrating the incredible local artists who’ve poured their time and talent into every open mic and busking session this year.

6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Dan Corredor will be kicking things off followed by our resident Dylan’ Aficionados, The Papa Grunge Trio featuring Brian Downes, Kevin Enright & Dale Butzelaar.
Mike Szabo, local troubadour will follow with some of Dylan’s Early Songs.
Returning to the Open Mic crowd this summer are Al Henderson and Rick McCracken, performing the more recent works including those of the Traveling Wilburys.
The evening will wind up with newcomers “Tegrity” with Nathan Danser, Riley Anderson and JJ Gouw

Every performance will feature music from the legendary songbook of Bob Dylan and The Band—you know the ones!

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
