The Annual Waskasoo Seepee Traditional Pow Wow

Monday, June 20th

On June 20, 2022, in the spirit of reconciliation we are excited to announce that Red Deer Native Friendship Society, community partners and sponsors will be bringing the Annual Waskasoo Seepee Traditional Pow Wow back to Red Deer at the Servus Arena. Grand Entries are at 12pm and 6pm. There will be food trucks on site, with free parking and a completely accessible venue for any level of mobility. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend with no entry fee.

A traditional pow wow is about prayer, we want to encourage our Indigenous people to continue their healing journey and bring attention to the children’s bodies being found across Turtle Island, include them in our prayers for their safe journey back to their Creator. This pow wow will feature traditional drums, singers, and dancers in full regalia who share their skill and cultural expression. There will be Indigenous craft vendors on site and community resources information tables. We are also accepting non-perishable donations to the Red Deer Food Bank at this event!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Darcy Goodrunning or the Red Deer Native Friendship Society: (403-418-5661) (403-340-0020)
